Description
Summary:Following an overview and evaluation of recent research on the roles, stratifications and structures of Jewish families in the Greco-Roman period, the behaviour of the Maccabean family and the household of Judith is examined. In view of the 'a-typical' traits reflected in their behaviour, the article concludes with a call for more nuanced research into individual Jewish families during the Greco- Roman period.
