Summary: | This special volume of Neotestamentica is dedicated to the 100th Birthday of the University of Pretoria (1908-2008). It provides a perspective on research aspects that were covered during the year of the centenary celebrations in the Department of New Testament Studies. Contributors include some of the staff, international research associates, as well as graduates connected with the Department of New Testament Studies at the University of Pretoria. Reflecting on the celebration theme "A Century of Knowledge", the contributors to this volume contributed on knowledge and mysteries in particular New Testament texts (Nel, Van der Watt, De Wet), on the reception of earlier written traditions (Moyise, Dafni), on the nature of early Christianity (Koch, Steyn), on textual criticism (Karrer) and on New Testament ethics (Zimmermann, Loubser). |
