Description
Summary:This collection has its origins in a conference at the University of St Andrews in 2007, where its contributors were asked to respond to the question: 'To what extent, and on what grounds, does the NT shape and prescribe Christian theology?' The papers have been grouped into three categories. The first looks at 'Scripture's Doctrine' and contains papers by Ross Wagner on the significance of the NT's use of the Septuagint, Markus Bockmuehl on whether the NT contains a doctrine of the Church, the OT scholar Walter Moberley on the force of Jn 14:6 for interfaith dialogue, and Tom Wright on narrative in Paul's thought. The second part looks at the way that certain theologians have engaged and been shaped by the NT.
