Description
Summary:The symbol of blood is used in three different contexts: the blood of Christ (as saving power), the blood of the martyrs (as a cry for justice) and the blood of divine justice. The blood of Christ cleanses and liberates all those who repent and remain faithful even to the point of giving their lives. The shedding of the blood of the martyrs is a crime which undermines creation (the water sources are gradually turned into blood). However, God manages these negative effects in order to allow for people to repent, but there is a limit and in the end God will deal with the sources of evil and their unrepentant supporters in a "bloody military victory" (the image of the wine press).
