The enlightened secularization thesis has not been proven: religion was supposed to disappear from the public sphere, because of the progress that science brought. However, religious reappearance means, in a way, the presence of traditional institutionalized religion and other forms of spirituality within the public sphere; furthermore, it shows that it is necessary to reexam what is understood by religion and show why religious faith is a good that must be protected. |
