| Summary: | The new Directory for Catechesis demands placing the communion with Christ not only as the main goal for Catechesis, but also as the core of the entire formative process. It also invites us to put more relevance to the existential situation and the development of each person being catechized. The current catechetical methodology, articulated in reference to the human experience, the Word of God, and the professions of the faith, shows certain difficulties in the adequate integration of the mentioned aspects. To resolve it, an elaborate model of catechism is proposed founded on the notion of the Christian experience of J. Mouroux: the understanding of oneself in relation with God. |
