Summary: | To better understand the role of affections in the human act, it is necessary to review the teaching of Saint Thomas and his analogical meaning of love. In this way, an integration of the Aristotelian basis that distinguishes human potentialities from that of Dionysian focused more on the unitive aspect of love can be verified. From here, the affective essential mediation of love in all human acts as an integration of the natural inclination and the intentionality proper to the practical reason is established. This is the authentic content of the S Th., I-II, q 28, a. 6, which entails a decisive importance in understanding the moral value of human acts. |
