| Summary: | An indult of exclaustration is the competent authority’s permission given for a grave reason to a member of a religious institute to live outside the religious house for a temporary period. The A. addresses several aspects of the topic: the different types of exclaustration, special norms on cloistered nuns, the practical procedures and formalities to be observed in exclaustration cases, the canonical status of the exclaustrated member, mitigations in the observance of the evangelical counsels of obedience and poverty while a member is on exclaustration, the termination or extension of the indult, and some issues of the civil (secular) law regarding the exclaustrated member’s relation to the institute. L’indult d’exclaustration est la permission donnée par l’autorité compétente, pour une raison grave, à un membre d’un institut religieux de vivre hors de la maison religieuse pour une période temporaire. L’A. aborde plusieurs aspects du sujet: les différents types d’exclaustration, les normes spéciales sur les moniales cloîtrées, les procédures pratiques et les formalités à observer dans les cas d’exclaustration, le statut canonique du membre exclaustré, les assouplissements dans l’observance des conseils évangéliques d’obéissance et de pauvreté pendant qu’un membre est en exclaustration, la fin ou la prolongation de l’indult, et certaines questions de droit civil (séculier) concernant la relation du membre exclaustré avec l’institut. |
