The author recalls the concept of ‘distinction of orders’ to retrace the different fields of jurisdictionalist and separatist thought of the eminent scholars of Italian ecclesiastical law, from Minghetti to Ruffini, from Scaduto to Del Giudice, as well as the concept of ‘detachment from canon law’. The most recent doctrinal and jurisprudential orientations, both national and international, are therefore examined in comparison with new forms of religious experience, thus contributing to the unstoppable evolution of ecclesiastical law. | ||
