Summary: | This article traces the life of Jean de Menasce as an historian of religions, theologian and philosopher. Towards this end, the most significant contributions of this Dominican, specialist in the religions of pre-Islamic Iran, in these three areas of knowledge are reviewed and his place in the science of his time specified, and this by way of recourse to his epistolary exchanges with a few of his contemporaries, especially the Belgian thinker Franz Cumont, whose correspondence with Jean de Menasce, largely unpublished, is given particular attention. |
