| Summary: | Why does Bonaventure, at the beginning of the Journey of the Mind into God, assign to Christ the magisterium of symbolic theology rather than to Pseudo-Dionysius ? The question is related to Bonaventure’s redefinition of this very symbolic theology as « the right use of the sensible ». By stressing the practicality and sensitiveness of this science, the seraphic Doctor demonstrates the need to trust the Word incarnate, specialist of the sensible world, in order to learn to enjoy the triune experience of all created beings. RésuméPourquoi Bonaventure, au début de l’Itinéraire de l’esprit vers Dieu, attribue-t-il le magistère de la théologie symbolique au Christ plutôt qu’au Pseudo-Denys ? Cette question est liée à la redéfinition bonaventurienne de cette même théologie symbolique comme « usage droit du sensible ». En mettant l’accent sur la dimension pratique et sensitive de cette discipline, le Docteur séraphique montre la nécessité de s’en remettre au Verbe incarné, spécialiste du monde sensible, pour apprendre à faire l’expérience trinitaire de toute créature. |
