| Summary: | The French Dominican Claude Geffré is one of the most notable theologians seriously engaged in the study of globalization’s impact on the expression of Christian faith. This study proposes to shed light on his important contribution as an answer to the challenges Christianity faces in an increasingly interconnected world. After reviewing the works of a few notable thinkers who have understood the necessity of an encounter between theology and historical data, one will see the importance of Claude Geffrés guidance for explaining the current need to focus on geographic coordinates in order to build up a truly universal Christendom. Le dominicain français Claude Geffré est l’un des théologiens les plus connus qui se sont consacrés à étudier l’impact de la globalisation sur l’expression de la foi chrétienne. Cette étude entend mettre en évidence son importante contribution en tant que réponse aux défis auxquels le christianisme est confronté dans ce monde de plus en plus interconnecté. Après avoir présenté les travaux des plus célèbres penseurs qui ont compris à quel point la rencontre entre la théologie et les données historiques était nécessaire, on verra comment, aujourd’hui, dans le sillage de Claude Geffré, on doit se concentrer sur les coordonnées géographiques en vue de construire un christianisme réellement universel. |
