| Resumo: | Philippe Büttgen’s work, Luther et la philosophie, shows « how a question of philosophy became the motive for religious reform ». Through meticulous analysis of texts and facts, Büttgen’s study revolutionises the question of philosophy with regard to Luther and the understanding of his criticism of scholasticism. Refusing every easy answer to the problems raised by this issue, the author identifies the coherency of Luther’s argument, deploying a method of critical analysis elaborated from historiographical concepts drawn from Marie-Dominique Chenu and Paul Vignaux. RésuméLe livre de Philippe Büttgen, Luther et la philosophie, montre « comment une question de la philosophie a pu se constituer en mobile d’une réforme religieuse ». Fondé sur une analyse minutieuse des textes et des faits, cet ouvrage renouvelle entièrement la question de la philosophie chez Luther et la compréhension de sa critique de la scolastique. En évitant toute solution facile à des problèmes que cette question comporte, il fait ressortir de façon critique la cohérence du propos de Luther, grâce à une méthode d’analyse élaborée par l’auteur à partir de concepts historiographiques puisés chez Marie-Dominique Chenu et Paul Vignaux. |
