| Riepilogo: | Most current specialists have concluded that the sixty-one dossiers were established by Pascal himself. Is this not, in fact, the case ? F. Kaplan finds them incoherent, and sets against them the many pointers concerning classification which are found in Pascal’s autographs, upon which Kaplan bases his own edition. It is a considerable step forward to have taken into account Pascal’s indications, as F. Kaplan was the first to do. Yet, on the hand, it only serves to underline the Pascalian authenticity of the dossiers, and enables them to be placed perfectly in order, thus bringing us as near as could be to the apology as it stood at the death of its author. RésuméLes soixante-et-un dossiers, que la plupart des spécialistes actuels concluent avoir été établis par Pascal lui-même, n’ont-ils en fait pas été constitués par lui ? F. Kaplan les trouve peu cohérents et leur oppose les multiples indications de classement fournies par les autographes pascaliens et sur lesquelles il fonde son édition. La prise en compte de ces indications, dont F. Kaplan a été l’initiateur, représente assurément un progrès indubitable. Mais elle souligne au contraire l’authenticité pascalienne des dossiers et permet leur parfaite organisation, qui nous conduit au plus près du projet d’apologie tel qu’il se trouvait à la mort de son auteur. |
