The theory of the relations between the body and the soul underlies not only the epistemology of Guerric of Saint-Quentin, but also his theology. Thus, his conception of the beatific vision anticipates that of Thomas Aquinas. Guerric, one of the first masters of the Dominican school, notably denies the heightened intensity of the beatific vision at the resurrection. |
