Chenu (1937), selon laquelle la création au Saulchoir (1920) d'un Institut historique d'études thomistes, réalise, grâce au P. P. Mandonnet, une ancienne visée du P. A. Gardeil, Régent des études jusqu'en 1911, reprise par le P. A. Lemonnyer son successeur. Personnellement étranger à ces négociations préalables, le P. Chenu trouve immédiatement place dans le travail dont il assure aussi le secrétariat jusqu'en 1926. Concerns the documentary verification of Father Chenu's statement in 1937 to the effect that the creation of the Institute in 1920 was the realisation of an old ambition of Father A. Gardeil, who was Regent of Studies up to 1911, resuscitated by his successor Father A. Lemonnyer at the instance of Father P. Mandonnet. Though not personally concerned in the preliminary negotiations, Father Chenu at once took his part in the work, and was also in charge of it secretarially until 1926. |
