Trop souvent, le lecteur veut associer entre eux les différents éléments de ces gloses. C'est ainsi que la chair soumise entièrement à l'esprit (HSim V, 6,4-7) est abusivement identifiée au Fils de Dieu. Or, chaque explication a sa logique propre qu'il faut respecter. La structure stylistique impose donc des limites précises à l'interprétation théologique et permet d'éviter la création d'hiatus inexistants. The Christology found in the Fifth Similitude often seems incoherent. Hermas's own parable of the faithful servant has been the subject of various explanations, mostly allegorical. Too often, the reader feels a desire to form connections between different elements of these interpretations. It is by so doing that the complete obedience of the flesh to the spirit (HSim V, 6,4-7) has been improperly associated with the Sonship of God. Each analogy has its own logic, which should be respected. By observing the strict limits which the stylistic structure imposes on the theological interpretation, one can avoid trying to bridge non-existent gaps. |
