Celle-ci s'explique par la découverte d'un niveau de pensée qui n'est ni anthropologique, ni éthique au sens habituel du terme. Cette découverte ne pouvait être mise en continuité avec le processus qui s'était déroulé jusque-là. Si pourtant Spinoza, ayant résumé cette découverte, fait de nouveau mention de la « faiblesse humaine », c'est que l'éthique du philosophe lui-même se caractérise essentiellement comme une « morale provisoire » (bien que dans un sens non-cartésien). The beginning of the fourth section of the introduction to the T.I.E. is marked by a hiatus in the train of thought. One discovers that Spinoza is no longer discussing either anthropology or ethics in any acceptable sense of those terms. It would be impossible to interpret the passages following the hiatus as a continuation of the former line of argument. If however Spinoza, having made the same discovery, again mentions "human weakness", it is an indication that the ethics of the philosopher himself bear all the marks of a "tentative morality" (though in a non-Cartesian sense). |
