De ce travail, il nous reste un manuscrit imposant, sous le titre générique : « Dieu en question ». Trois parties s'en dégagent : incertitude et pari, criticisme kantien, epistemologie de la science contemporaine. L'article tente, pour la première fois et pour introduire une éventuelle publication, l'analyse de l'ouvrage. Il insiste particulièrement sur la conception, fort originale, de l' « objet » de science dans la physique contemporaine. Throughout a period lasting several years Antoine Giacometti, though still continuing to produce novels, poetry, and essays, directed his energies to work in philosophy. This facet of his literary activity has come down to us in the form of an impressive manuscript bearing the generic title: "God in question". Three major sections can be delimited: doubt and risk, kantian criticism, and an epistemology of contemporary science. The article offers what is actually the first attempt at an analysis of the work in question — in view of its possible publication. There is a marked emphasis of the strikingly original concept of the "object" of science in contemporary physics. |
