La définition du symbole s'inspire des travaux de Ricœur et de de Saussure et permet une sémantique spéciale distincte de la sémiologie et de la linguistique contemporaines (Greimas, Todorov, Sperber, Barthes) et de l'herméneutique freudienne. Ni formel, ni fonctionnel, le structuralisme de G. D. recourt au « trajet anthropologique », à l'« homologie » et à « la méthode de convergence » (cf. Lévi-Strauss) pour déboucher sur une taxinomie générale de l'imaginaire et de l'imagination. The article's purpose is to analyse precisely the notions of imaginary and symbol utilized by G. D. in his anthropological studies. Inspired by Jung, Bachelard and Cassirer, G. D. chooses a very broad notion of the imaginary : he endeavours to record and classify the homogeneous, settled and hierarchised totality of all the images, symbols, plans and archetypes. The definition of the symbol is inspired by Riœeur and de Saussure's works and allows a special semantics distinct from contemporary semiology and linguistics (Greimas, Todorov, Sperber, Barthes) and Freudian hermeneutics. Neither formal nor functional, G. D.'s structuralism resorts to the "anthropological way", "homology" and the "method of convergence" (Levi-Strauss) to issue on a general taxinomy of the imaginary and the imagination. | ||
