| Summary: | This study treats the social correlates of religious liberalism and the relation between religious and political liberalism among students at a Catholic University. Concerning the first question it was found that religious liberals tend to have the attributes of central and elite members of the Catholic college community. Concerning the second it was found that, while religious and political liberalism are related, the relationship is strongest among the priests and nuns in the sample and relatively weak among the lay students. It is only in matters of civil rights and civil liberties that a fairly strong correlation between the two liberalisms appears among the laity as well as priests and nuns. |
