Description
Summary:Employing the system of Karl Marx's dialectical socioeconomic materialism and Karl Mannheim's historical relativism, Werner Stark crystallizes a sociology of knowledge in the light of the Scheler-Weber tradition of sociological realism. The essence of the sociology of knowledge concerns itself with the horizontal relations between thought and thinkers. It represents a world-view that affirms society in the light of value-facts in said society, considering religious thought and values as the primary objects of knowledge confronting its hermeneutical method. Leaving abstruse thoughts to others, the sociology of knowledge interprets the historical manifestation of truth in society as a community of knowers.
