| Summary: | This article deals with the question of a strengthening of episcopal control over parish churches in the Iberian Northwest in the early 12th century. The imposition of that authority over rural churches was one of the crucial issues of ecclesiastical reform in dioceses where private control of places of worship was common. In this context, some documents show how, thanks to new documentary practices, Bishop Pedro III of Lugo formalised in writing the conditions of submission of certain parish churches. The practice of oathtaking and consideration the parish to be a beneficiary concession are examined here in the context of the extension of feudal customs in the Northwestern Iberian Peninsula. Cet article traite de la question du renforcement du contrôle épiscopal sur les églises paroissiales dans le Nord-Ouest ibérique au début du 12e s. L’imposition de cette autorité sur les églises rurales fut l’une des questions cruciales de la réforme ecclésiastique dans des diocèses où le contrôle privé des lieux de culte était habituel. Dans ce contexte, certains documents montrent comment, grâce à des pratiques documentaires nouvelles, l’évêque Pedro III de Lugo formalisa par écrit les conditions de soumission de quelques églises paroissiales. La pratique du serment et la considération de la paroisse comme concession bénéficiaire sont ici examinées dans le contexte de l’extension des usages féodaux dans le Nord-Ouest de la péninsule Ibérique. Dieser Artikel behandelt die Frage der Stärkung der bischöflichen Kontrolle über die Gemeindekirchen im iberischen Nordwesten zu Beginn des 12. Jahrhunderts. Das Aufzwingen dieser Autorität auf ländliche Kirchen war eine der zentralen Fragen der Kirchenreform in den Diözesen, in denen Kultstätten gebräuchlicherweise privat kontrolliert wurden. In diesem Kontext zeigen gewisse Dokumente auf, wie dank neuartiger dokumentarischer Praktiken, Bischof Pedro III von Lugo die Bedingungen der Unterwerfung von Gemeindekirchen geschrieben formulierte. Darüber hinaus wird die Praxis des Eides und das Betrachten der Gemeinde als begünstigte Konzession im Zusammenhang mit der Ausbreitung der feudalen Gebräuche im Nordwesten der iberischen Halbinsel untersucht. |
