| Summary: | La Congregazione per gli Istituti di vita consacrata e le Società di vita apostolica ha promulgato nel 2018 un documento sull’Ordo virginum, sotto forma di Istruzione, intitolato Ecclesiae Sponsae Imago. A seguito del rinnovamento dell’Ordine delle vergini consacrate suscitato dal Concilio Vaticano II (cf. Perfectae caritatis 1) e la sua rapida fioritura in diverse luoghi nel mondo, il documento cerca di fornire elementi per il necessario adeguamento delle vergine consacrate ai diversi contesti locali e culturali. L’articolo, dopo aver studiato la struttura del documento (1), spiega il suo contenuto come la responsabilità primaria del Vescovo diocesano (2), e alcuni elementi canonici come la castità, il ricorso a esperti di psicologia, l’associazione e l’età richiesta e la durata della formazione (3), e alla fine presenta il valore generale del documento e alcuni elementi come limiti. The Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life promulgated in 2018 a document on the Ordo virginum, in the form of an Instruction, entitled Ecclesiae Sponsae Imago. Following the renewal of the Order of consecrated virgins sparked by the Second Vatican Council (cf. Perfectae caritatis 1) and its rapid flourishing in different places around the world, the document seeks to provide elements for the necessary adaptation of consecrated virgins to different local and cultural contexts. The article, after studying the structure of the document (1), explains its content such as the primary responsibility of the diocesan bishop (2), and some canonical elements such as chastity, recourse to psychological experts, association and age requirement and duration of formation (3), and finally presents the general value of the document and some elements as limitations. |
