| Summary: | In order to shed light on the role and the significance of the Reportatio Parisiensis in the work of John Duns Scotus the present article deals with the topic of the univocation of real and mental being, which represents one of the most controversial questions not only in the philosophy of Scotus himself but also in later Scotistic philosophy. It is interesting to see that the question whether there exists a concept of being univocally common to real and mental being is only shortly discussed in distinction 29 of the Lectura and the Ordinatio, but becomes more important in the Parisian writings. I first present a synopsis of the various texts of distinction 29 to analyze the similarities and differences. After that I compare the results of this interpretation to the famous Quodlibet III written in Paris about 1305. Finally I will have a short look at some Scotistic authors and how they reacted to the problem of univocation presented in the Reportatio.\n4207 \n4207 |
