Summary: | Critiques of late-capitalist, European modes of economic and theoretical production are taken as a context for the analysis of theorizing and policy-making. An analytic classification of types of theorizing is presented and used to discuss recent critical theories. Various social theories (Habermas, "Tel Quel", and critical criminology) and liberation theology are analyzed. The special problem of church theorizing and policy making is examined. Textual productivity based on a critique of European hermeneutical methods is considered as an alternative to current theological practices. |
