After explicating four primary modes of liturgy and their characteristic affections, the connection between liturgy and the ethics of character is drawn out in detail. Liturgy as cultus must bear within itself prophetic selfawareness in a world of moral ambiguity, seen most clearly in the recovery of the intercessions. The conceptual link between "glorification of God and sanctification of man" reveals how worship embodies moral direction and vision. |
