Description
Summary:This article reviews four manuscripts: 4QDeutj, 4QDeutk1, 4QDeutn, and 4QDeutq, and demonstrates that all of these are to be classified in the category of "exerpted texts". The contents of this four scrolls are compared and examined in light of phylacteries and mezuzot texts coming from Qumran, as are their textual characteristics. In addition it is proposed that two manuscripts of Exodus from Cave 4 belong to this genre of text.
