L'auteur soutient que le Rouleau du Temple est un ouvrage pareil à 1 Hénoch et au Livre des Jubilés, écrit non comme Écriture sainte, mais comme interprétation de l'Écriture sainte. Le calendrier du rouleau est le calendrier d'Hénoch, développé dans sa forme la plus complète.
