Summary: | This study focuses on Theodore of Mopsuestia’s Commentary on John, highlighting the centrality of the concept of progressive revelation as a core hermeneutical principle grounded in the Interpreter’s theological outlook. It is applied in the Commentary to the notions of sacred history and gradual disclosure of christological truths. This general framework is finally epitomized in the concept of Jesus’ own biography, where Theodore discerns a progressive development in the mode of conjunction between the homo assumptus and divinity, which appears to be conditioned by the Interpreter’s loose-union christology.\n4207 Étudiant le Commentaire sur Jean de Théodore de Mopsueste, l’article souligne la centralité du thème de la révélation progressive comme principe herméneutique fondé sur le regard théologique de l’Interprête.
