Cependant, lorsqu’on examine la formation des traditions rabbiniques, on discerne une composante essénienne: ce sont les haberim, qui sont à la fois vénérés et mis à distance, car ils sont trop stricts pour servir de modèle pour tous. En effet, le propos de la réorganisation commencée à Yabné-Iamnia après 70 était d’encadrer tout un peuple.\n4207 The Jewish proselyte baptism, which is performed after circumcision, is a classic puzzle, since it is difficult to prove its existence before Christianity. But scrutinizing the formation of the Rabbinic traditions leads to identifying an Essene layer from the Second Temple period, termed haberim in the sources. These groups are both held in high esteem and put at some distance, for their strictness prevented their being a model for all.
