| Summary: | Source- and redaction-critical examinations have been unable to show why in Luke's passion account the rending of the temple veil comes before rather than after the death of Jesus. Attention to the socio-cultural significance of the temple in the narrative of Luke-Acts suggests that the torn veil at Jesus' crucifixion signifies the end of the temple as a sacred symbol of socio-religious power. For Luke, the symbolic world emanating from the architecture and theology of the temple has thus been compromised so as to open the way fully to a mission to all people. Les études critiques sur les sources et sur la rédaction ont été incapables de montrer pourquoi, dans le récit lucanien de la Passion, le déchirement du rideau du Temple venait avant plutôt qu'après la mort de Jésus. Cependant la signification socio-culturelle du Temple dans le récit de Luc-Actes suggère que le rideau déchiré lors de la crucifixion de Jésus signifie la fin du Temple comme symbole sacré du pouvoir socio-religieux. Pour Luc, le monde symbolique émanant de l'architecture et de la théologie du Temple a été compromis de façon à ouvrir complètement la voie à la mission pour tous les peuples. |
