Comme pour les prêtres, le ministère prophétique d'Ézéchiel a commencé par une période d'incubation de sept jours. Son ministère de prophète et de prêtre se termine quand Ézécheil a cinquante ans (la vingt-cinquième année de l'Exil), âge auquel les Lévites se retiraient du service actif. In Ezechiel 1:1 the "thirtieth year" signifies the age of the prophet at the time of his first vision. It is also the same date in 1:2, which is the age at which Ezekiel would have been presented to the priestly order if he had stayed in Jerusalem. As with the priests, the prophetic ministry of Ezekiel began with a seven day period of incubation. His ministry as prophet and as priest ended when Ezekiel was fifty (the twenty-fifth year of the Exile), the age at which Levites retired from active service. |
