It is to be read in the light of the opposition he faced from those who objected to him as a rogue, a would-be servant of God, who operated without proper authority in offering acceptance and forgiveness to sinners. Les interprétations, traditionnelles ou récentes, de la parabole du serviteur infidèle ne convainquent guère, surtout parce qu'elles y voient une exhortation en faveur d'une réponse humaine spécifique à Jésus. La parabole appartient plutôt au groupe de celles qui défendent et explicitent le comportement de Jésus, son autorité et sa confiance dans la revendication. Elle doit être lue à la lumière de l'opposition de ceux qui voient en Jésus un personnage indélicat, un prétendu serviteur de Dieu, qui accorde, sans l'autorité nécessaire, l'accueil et le pardon aux pécheurs. | ||
