Description
Summary:This article reflects critically on various propositions recently advanced by D. Murray in RB 94 (1987) 389-396, regarding the reading in 2 Sam 7, 7. In particular it argues for retaining MT's reading ’t ’ ḥd šbṭy yśr'l and for seeing this as a reference to the various "tribes" which, successively, enjoyed a certain primacy within the people of Israel.
