Or, à date récente, 41 folios ont été acquis par le « Board of Trustees », le Conseil d'administration chargé, à Dublin, de continuer l'œuvre de Sir Chester Beatty. Son président, le Dr. Kevin J. Cathcart, a demandé au Père Louis Leloir d'éditer et de traduire cette deuxième partie de l'œuvre d'Éphrem, comme il l'avait fait en 1963 pour la première. On trouvera ici l'édition des douze premières pages du texte syriaque, et la traduction de ses vingt-quatre premières pages. L'ensemble paraîtra, ultérieurement, dans les Chester Beatty Monographs. In 1957 sir Chester Beatty acquired a Syriac manuscript of which the second part contained a large number of commentaries of Ephrem on the Diatessaron. 65 folios were found. Unfortunately about 55 were missing. Recently though 41 folios were acquired by "The Board of Trustees" in Dublin to continue the work of sir Chester Beatty. The president of the board, Dr Kevin J. Cathcart, has asked father Louis Leloir to edit and to translate this second part of the work of Ephrem, as he did with the first part in 1963. Here is edited the first twelve pages of the Syriac text; translated are 24 pages. The rest of the work will be published later on in The Chester Beatty Monographs. |
