Summary: | To ascertain who made use of amulets with Samaritan inscriptions in Roman-Byzantine times, the context in which the amulets are found is decisive. The presently available evidence points to Christians and Jews as wearers rather than Samaritans. To use amulets with Samaritan script for identiflcatian of locations as Samaritan is only possible if additional evidence is available. |
