Ainsi s'explique l'extraordinaire présent du verset suivant : «Avant qu'Abraham fût né, je suis». The Greek verb "ekhein" cannot be used to speak of somebody's age. Therefore the question of the Jews to Jesus in John 8, 57 is to be translated: "Thou hast seen Abraham for less than fifty years?". Thus is explained the extraordinary present tense in the following verse: "Before Abraham was born, I am". |
