Description
Summary:The Sanctus, a high-ranking liturgical text of the eucharistic prayer and its origins in early Christian time (before Const.Ap. VII/VIII) are investigated by the author in his article. By the way from biblical citation (Jes 6:3) to Christian liturgy he realizes the change from proclamation to acclamation and the phrase of ‚heaven and earth‘ supposed to be the area of God's splendor and magnificence. Interpreting the Sanctus in the Slavonic Enoch, Test. Isaak he finds out the hellenistic synagogue being probably the place of transfer and transformation from biblical wording to authentic liturgical text – while Apc 4:8/1 Clem 34:6 show a similar development in the prayer texts of early Christian time. May be the phase of a ‚free wording‘ in hellenistic-jewish theology makes the adaption understandable which has been taken up by the early Christian liturgy before the end of the third century.
