Summary: | The study of Schmidt-Lauber concerning the pascal-mystery in the praeconium pascale reminds the reader of the rediscovery of the Easter vigil within the Protestant Churches fifty years ago. He underlines the unity of remembrance (anamnesis) of the crucifixion and resurrection of the Lord in the Exsultet, the specific praise of the Easter vigil. Summing up the reception of Passover by the New Testament and patristic tradition in their different main types he submits a theological interpretation of the Exsultet in three paragraphs: the representation of God's salvation by the eucharistia (haec nox est), the soteriological complex of sin and redemption (felix culpa) and the praise of the Lord by the creature (praise of the light/of the bees). „The Easter Vigil ist not only the ,mother of all vigils’, but the source of worship and liturgy par excellence.“ |
