Description
Summary:The differences between the Eucharistic traditions of Mark and Paul have long motivated research into the question of the earliest verifiable account of the Last Supper. The writer uses source criticism to isolate first (in Mark 14) the model for the pre-Markan eschatological meal, then (in I Cor 11) the putative pre-Pauline tradition. In both these accounts of the institution it is a matter not of cultic formulae for recitation, but of catechistical texts.
