| Sumario: | There is a desire to reappraise the need for a greater emotional content in hymns. Thus there are requests to include So take my hand ("So nimm denn meine Hände") in the hymn books. The text is analysed and this reveals that it has a certain strength of form. However, the song must still be refused because of the content: the text remains theologically diffuse and presents an anthropological philosophy with a tendency to passiveness and weakness. This is accentuated by the melodic structure. |
