| Summary: | How the less sure of the available texts of 1-2 Maccabees became the received Latin text (Vulgate) ? The critical editions of D. De Bruyne (1932) and of the Benedictine monks of San Girolamo in Rome (1995) pave the way to a history of the diffusion of the multiple text types and allow to distinguish the factors giving an advantage to one of them : its disposition per cola et commata in small codices by Italian (and perhaps Roman) booksellers ; its use in the scriptoria of Tours (Alcuin) and Orléans (Theodulf) ca 800. Some characteristic readings of the Vulgate are already witnessed in Africa about 400. Comment le moins bon des textes disponibles des Maccabées est-il devenu celui de la Vulgate ? En partant des éditions critiques de D. De Bruyne (1932) et des bénédictins de Saint-Jérôme à Rome (1995), il est possible de reconstruire une histoire de la diffusion des divers types de texte et de discerner les facteurs qui ont entraîné le succès de l’un deux : sa présentation per cola et commata dans de petits codices par des libraires italiens (romains peut-être) ; son choix par les scriptoria de Tours (Alcuin) et d’Orléans (Théodulfe) pour des bibles en un volume (pandectes), vers 800. Certaines caractéristiques de la recension vulgate apparaissent déjà en Afrique vers 400. |
