Description
Summary:New edition of the short Constitutions of Placido, prior of Camaldoli (1180-1190), first published in 1759. This text, centered on poverty and silence, completes the Liber Eremitice Regule of the prior Rodolfo II (1158-1176). The main sources are the Bible, the Fathers, Occidentals (Augustine, Benedict, Peter Damian) and Orientals (Basil), partly through the Concordia discordantium canonum of Gratian (1144).
