Methodisch von diesen Texten verschiedener Gattungen ausgehend, ließ sich William de Pagula von der Struktur und dem Material der neueren Werke inspirieren, die großen Erfolg versprachen, und verschmolz sie zu einem neuen Handbuch für den Gebrauch jener Seelsorger, die zum Predigen berufen waren. The article treats the practice of reusing texts in the Speculum prelatorum of William de Pagula († 1332), especially in the third part of his work, demonstrating his systematic borrowing from the Manipulus florum of Thomas of Ireland, from the Summa Guiotina of Guy d’Évreux and the Summa de Abstinentia, of Nicolas de Biard, and, more occasionally, from the De dono timoris of Humbert de Romans, the Legenda aurea of Jacques de Voragine and the De contemptu mundi of Innocent III. Methodically drawing from these works of varied genre, William de Pagula took inspiration from the structure and material of recent works that promised great success, melding them into a new sourcebook for the use of pastors called on to preach. Cet article met en évidence la pratique du remploi textuel dans le Speculum prelatorum de William de Pagula († 1332), en particulier la troisième partie de cette oeuvre, en montrant l’utilisation systématique du Manipulus florum de Thomas d’Irlande, de la Summa Guiotina de Guy d’Évreux et de la Summa de Abstinentia de Nicolas de Biard, ainsi que plus ponctuellement du De dono timoris d’Humbert de Romans, de la Legenda aurea de Jacques de Voragine et du De contemptu mundi d’Innocent III. Puisant avec méthode dans ces oeuvres de genres variés, William de Pagula s’est inspiré de la structure et de la matière d’ouvrages récents et promis à un grand succès, les fondant dans un nouvel outil de travail à l’usage des pasteurs appelés à prêcher. |
