| Summary: | This article is a summary of the lecture given at the conference «Religions: encounters and disagreements» that took place in Madrid in November 2017. It deals with the so-called «Sephardic community», that is, the Hispanic Jewish community that was expelled from Spain in 1492. The author studies its origin, the decree of expulsion and the reasons for it, some of the main places in which these Jewish communities settled after the expulsion and some characteristics of the Jewish Hispanic groups. More specifically, the Sephardic community in the city of Rome is studied in detail, analyzing the different reactions they found in the «eternal city» as a good example of «encounter» but also of «disagreement» among religions and within the same religion as well. Este artículo es un resumen de la conferencia impartida en el seminario «Religiones: encuentros y desencuentros» que tuvo lugar en Madrid en noviembre de 2017. Trata acerca de la llamada «comunidad Sefardí», esto es, de la comunidad hispano-judía que fue expulsada de España en 1492. La autora estudia los orígenes de estas comunidades, el decreto de expulsión y sus motivos, algunos de los lugares principales en los cuales estas comunidades judías se asentaron tras la expulsión y algunas características de los grupos hispano judíos. De forma más detallada se estudia la comunidad sefardí de la ciudad de Roma, analizando las diversas reacciones que se produjeron en la «città eterna» como un buen ejemplo de «encuentro», pero también de «desencuentro» entre religiones e incluso en el interior de una misma religión. |
