Through the examination of some of the most reliable testimonies, both Arab and Latin, it offers a vision of the political, economic and religious elements present in the events which unfolded in the Iberian Peninsula in the year 711, 92 of the Hijra. El artículo se propone sentar las bases para una correcta comprensión del entramado de intereses que llevaron a la desaparición del reino visigodo y al nacimiento de al-Andalus. A través del examen de algunos de los testimonios más fiables, tanto árabes como latinos, se ofrece una visión de los elementos políticos, económicos y religiosos presentes en los acontecimientos de los que la Península Ibérica fue escenario en el año 711, 92 de la hégira. |
