| Summary: | The proposal of Pope Francis in Laudato Si’ goes beyond incorporating environmental concerns in the Social Doctrine of the Church. In it, Francis offers an acute analysis of the global problems that affect humanity and discovers that there are two deeply interconnected realities: the suffering of the poor and the suffering of the Earth as a global ecosystem. This article attempts to outline Francis’ proposal: how neoliberal capitalism, as today’s leading social and economic model, is incompatible with what is truly human, and the urgency of a revolution fueled by tenderness and mercy. La propuesta del Papa Francisco en Laudato Si’ va más allá de incorporar las preocupaciones medioambientales a la Doctrina Social de la Iglesia. Francisco realiza un fino análisis de los problemas globales que afectan a la humanidad y descubre que hay dos realidades profundamente interconectadas: el sufrimiento de los pobres y el sufrimiento de la Tierra como ecosistema global. Este artículo pretende mostrar la propuesta de Francisco: la incompatibilidad entre lo verdaderamente humano y el modelo social y económico imperante, el capitalismo neoliberal¡ globalizado, y la urgencia de una revolución de la ternura y la misericordia. |
