An examination of these Stasi records shows that these officials did not recoli from using the files of their notorious predecessors, the Gestapo, for their own purposes. Nor did they refrain from defaming a former victim of Nazi repression and accusing him of being an alleged traitor in public. It is now possible to see just how this false propaganda of the East German authorities was misued to deceive others and to spread falsehoods. |
