Summary: | In this article the author examines the historiographical methodology of N.T. Wright. The author claims that Wright employs the methods of "critical realism" in an attempt to retain metaphysical and theological neutrality in his historiographical writing. However, the author argues that Wright’s reception of critical realism, from Meyer and Lonergan, ignores implicit theological presuppositions within the critical realist approach that make it unsuitable for this very task from the outset. |
